Today 30 pupils in year 8 were invited by Wolverhampton Grammar School to attend a session delivered by Mr Russel, a serving magistrate for Wolverhampton City. The pupils learned about the role of the magistrate court in UK government and were given real case scenarios where they had to use evidence to determine what they think the sentence should be for each of the defendants.
A representative from Wolverhampton Grammar school commented; “May I also congratulate your students on their impeccable behaviour and engagement.”
We are very proud of all the students who attended today and who represented Smestow Academy so impeccably.’
