It has come to that time in the year where our next Prefects for 2025 -26 have been selected. This year we had a record 52 applicants for 25 spaces. The selection process which consisted of a written application and interview with Heads of Houses proved very hard and in the end 26 Prefects were selected. I want to take this time to thank all the Year 10’s who did apply, please know this was such a difficult decision.

D Rana, J Oziga, A Ahmed, R Finlayson Palmer, C Omorowa, P Natey, A Kumar, S Singh, A Eshani, P Vaisvilla, V Cirocan, S Singh, Y Gaillard, K Peterside, W Hussain, P Bassi, H Davies, T Blundell, F Zirta Gimben, S Khan, S De Souza, J Pal, L Osborne, H Stanley, E Randhawa and A L Steadman.
Last week our prefects completed their 2 days training. Day 1 consisted of team building skills at Challenge Academy, where pupils faced activity courses blindfolded with all their trust in their partner, skills of working together and of course the high ropes. Pupils thoroughly enjoyed this day, and it was lovely to see pupils working together and facing their fears.
Day 2 was in school training with Senior Leadership Team and Head of Houses including Level 1 safeguarding, mentoring training and electing the senior Prefects. By the time this publishes pupils will know but a massive congratulations to J Oziga, A Eshani and P Vaisvilla for being voted by their peers to be the Head Prefects at Smestow Academy.
