Today, pupils in Years 7, 9 and 10 have received a talk from Carmen at DORCAS regarding female genital mutilation (FGM).

As part of our personal development programme, pupils are made aware of safeguarding themselves and each other regarding FGM, what FGM is and what the laws are regarding this in the UK.

Pupils were beautifully behaved during these discussions – FGM is a very sensitive topic, but they understood the importance of raising awareness of this practice. They also asked some fantastic questions to Carmen and engaged positively in her talk.
