Christchurch School

On Thursday, Mr Webb took a group of fantastic YR8&9 Sports Leaders to Christchurch school to run their annual sportsday. We were invited back after last year being such a success and the students once again did not disappoint with their fantastic attitude, participation and leadership throughout the day. The students first of all had to lead on a number of different stations for each year group showcasing their demonstration, motivation and leadership skills to ensure the young students had chance to gain and improve on some sporting skills. We then went onto the more traditional sportsday with the races and our students led this through providing rewards at the end of each race, sorting out equipment and helping with the finish of each race. Continued comments came Mr Webb’s way from parents and staff at Christchurch saying how much of a help and a credit the students were to the school. They showcased Smestow in the best light and are a credit to themselves and the academy. We look forward to many more opportunities in the future and these guys developing their leadership even further and hopefully becoming a real part of sport and leading within it. Well done to all; Hannah S, Ali E, Bryan C, Annabel U, David G, Collins O, Hayden D, Ffion H, Ishan L, Kyla W, Evie W, Abbi S, Yancy G, Victory S
